Best Pool Ever

Yet again, I am going to promote the South Davis rec center. It is the most amazing indoor swimming pool. An indoor playground in two feet of water - what can get better than that? Not a lot for a four-year old's birthday and her little cousin Owen. Heaven.

The amazing playground behind Joey and Owen. As you can tell, the O-ball is having a good time.

This slide is humongous - and they let you hold your child on your lap. I wish you could see Owen's face - he is giggling. Before he made it to the bottom, he screamed "AGAIN!"

The birthday girl dumping buckets of water onto unsuspecting victims.

Her Ariel cake. I love doing cakes for little girls - they fight over the funniest things: the tail, the sea shell bikinis, her lips . . .

Pucker up!

I Love to See the Temple

Goodbye Winter, Welcome Spring

Yesterday was May 1st. It snowed. It was cold.

In an effort to encourage an end to the winter weather, I'm going to post the last of my winter photos of Owen. No more snowy, gray days. I'm done for this year.Owen is "doing the dishes." In the short moments when I had my back turned, he grabbed several items and secretly stashed them under the burners. They were not recovered for several weeks when I smelled something burning.

Doing my best to teach my son the fine art of ice cream eating. He is catching on quite well.

Owen likes to do many things in his fort - watch tv, eat, go to the bathroom . . .

This last picture is hilarious. Owen is watching a 30 second clip of his cousin playing in the tub. Every time it would end, he would scream "AGAIN!" until we would hit play. This lasted for at least 10 minutes.

Well, there you have it winter. We are done with you until early December. See you then.

Owen, the Comedian

Last night, was another all-nighter in the Wilson household. Here is the time line as follows:

8:30 pm - Owen to bed. Silence.
10:00 pm - Tears, screams. Joey visits Owen briefly, calms him and leaves the room. More silence.
11:00 pm - (just as I am hopping into bed) Owen screams, many tears shed. No comfort. Not in the mood to fight with him or make him cry it out, we snuggle as I get him some Tylenol. He must be in pain, right?
12:45 am - Finally asleep. I think. I settle in on the couch.
1:00 am - "Mommy. Mommmmmmmeeeeeee." Great. Turkey. I take a pillow, blanket and head into Owen's room. "It is time to be asleep." I settle in on his floor.
2:00 am (I think): I hear Owen laughing and then him imitate someone snoring. "Ahhh-shoo." Great. Not only have I dozed off, but I was snoring and Owen thinks it is hilarious. He's not asleep, but making fun of his mom. Cute.
3:00 am - Owen quiet. No more noises coming from his crib or his mom. I leave the room and once again settle in on the couch.
4:00 am - Owen is crying bloody murder. I take my pillow, blanket and yet again make my way to Owen's room. He falls asleep much more quickly this time, meaning no comedic acts from him.
6:15 am - Owen bright-eyed and ready for the day. I am not amused.

My BFF

My new BFF is my boot and all its splendid glory! Yes, I have nothing good to say about my injury or how mad I am about it, but without this black beast, life would be very, very hard.

Congratulations Lorena on a very prompt and accurate guess. (Although I must confess that the backpack was a great guess. It is the only way I got anything done in my life at this time last year. As you can see.)

I must also say that I am extremely disappointed more people didn't comment and tell me what their favorite treat(s) is/are. I was secretly plotting to send you all treats at some given time throughout the year.
